FieldDeck is designed to protect your business data. The app operates with a local-first architecture: your job records, client details, and contracts stay on your devices and sync through your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, store, or transmit your proprietary job data to our servers.

However, to market, improve, and measure the effectiveness of our product, the FieldDeck marketing website (fielddeck.app) and certain account-level interactions do collect standard analytics and advertising data, as detailed below.

Website Data & Lead Collection

When you visit fielddeck.app or download our resources (such as templates or guides), we may collect:

Contact Information: Email address, trade type, and location state when you voluntarily submit forms on our site. We use this to deliver requested content and send product updates.
Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information for security and site delivery.

Analytics, Advertising, and Retargeting

We use third-party tools to understand website behavior and ad performance. These include PostHog for site analytics and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel for advertising measurement.

Consent-based Tracking: We only load PostHog and Meta Pixel after you opt in via our tracking prompt. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we default tracking to off.
Analytics Scope: We track page views, referring campaign parameters (UTMs), and high-level CTA clicks to improve our website and marketing.
Advertising & Retargeting: With consent, Meta Pixel may record conversion events and audience signals for campaign measurement and retargeting. Meta processes this data according to their own Data Policy.
Data Minimization: Our website telemetry excludes direct identifiers like email address and phone number from analytics event payloads.

Data We Store Locally (In-App)

FieldDeck stores the following information locally on your device and within your private iCloud:

Business profile information
Job records, line items, and photos
Client contact information and signatures
Custom contract terms and templates

We do not process the legal content of your contracts or job details; they remain encrypted on your device and iCloud.

App Telemetry & Marketing Attribution

While we do not track your job data, the FieldDeck app securely communicates specific account-level events to our servers to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. If you click an ad or download a template on our website and subsequently install the app, we link that web referral to your app installation. We also track major account milestones (such as starting a Pro trial or renewing a subscription) to understand our business metrics.

Data Sync, Retention & Deletion

Your job data syncs through Apple's iCloud service. This sync is encrypted by Apple and inaccessible to FieldDeck. You control retention and deletion directly:

Delete jobs or clients in-app to remove them from your device/iCloud.
Delete the app or manage iCloud settings to remove cloud-stored data.

California Privacy (CalOPPA) & Tracking Choices

Because we use advertising pixels with your consent, your website activity may be associated with other sites and platforms that use similar technologies. You can update your preference anytime using the "Privacy Choices" control in our footer or by clicking below. We treat Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out from optional tracking. You can also manage personalized ads through platform preferences (e.g., Meta Ad Preferences). Our site does not use legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals for preference handling.

Data Export

You can export all your data as CSV files at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This includes all jobs and all clients. Your data is always yours.

In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Children's Privacy

FieldDeck is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
